What Is the Mattress Recycling Fee?

Some states require retailers to collect a recycling fee for each mattress, foundation, or box spring sold. This state-mandated fee helps support recycling programs that recover and repurpose materials from used mattresses. The fee is applied to each eligible item in an order and will appear at checkout when shipping to applicable states.

Where Does This Fee Apply?

Mattress recycling fees apply to orders shipped to the following states:

• California

• Connecticut

• Oregon

• Rhode Island

The fee amount is determined by each state and may change over time.


Recycling Your Old Mattress

California customers are entitled by law to free take-back of one used mattress per new unit purchased. Because our deliveries are made via common carrier, pickup will be arranged within 30 days after delivery.

Pickup may be refused if the mattress is contaminated or unsafe to handle. Customers may request pickup when placing their order or immediately after delivery by contacting customer support at support@egohome.com.
